Lesson Objectives

Content Objective: To evaluate the various models of membrane structure and explain why certain models were rejected and some were not.


Language Objective: Analyse, with evidence, why the Davson-Danielli model was ultimately rejected for the Fluid Mosaic Model put together by Singer and Nicholson (fluid mosiac model).

Please work through the activity below.  This looks at the evidence for membranes and goes through two different models of membrane structure.  It is a challenging exercise in that you need to figure out what the evidence means in regard to membranes.  Please feel free to work together and use the resources below.  You will need them.  You will need to fill out the membrane analysis sheet.
